My favorite subject at university

Hi everyone!, Today I will talk about the subject that I like most at university, and it is “Sociedad y Cultura”. I took this subject in the first year, during the first semester. I really liked to take this subject because the professors taught us many things about the university, about its history, how it was founded, where the university was located and where it is now and the reasons for it.

During the length of the course, we talked about issues related to dentistry but as a social entity, the role of the dentist in the society, history of the dentistry in Chile and the world. In summary it was based on creating social awareness.

The reason why I liked it so much, was because not only we were taught the technical and scientific part that a dentist must know, but also the social part. For example, we talked a lot about public health, and the way it has evolved, the bad practices that were committed and what was normalized at that time, all from the point of view of the dentist and the training.

Finally, I enjoyed all the classes, and every day I learned something new about the social role of the dentist in our society.
